What is Integrative Veterinary Medicine?
Integrative Medicine is a holistic modality that promotes healing by looking beyond the disease and taking into consideration the whole animal, its body, mind and emotions, the relationship to its surroundings and any underlying conditions it may carry from the past.
Integrative Medicine is an interdisciplinary practice that:
a) seeks to understand the relationships between different organs and body parts,
b) focuses on identifying underlying causes of symptoms rather than just treating the symptoms of a disease,
c) applies the best possible treatment options by combining conventional medical practices with traditional, complementary, and alternative therapies in a coordinated manner.
In my personal practice a treatment of Integrative Medicine can consist of one or several of the following modalities based on the animal’s individual needs and condition:
- Conventional Medicine (Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, etc.)
- Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy, Nutritional Advise)
- Ozone Therapy
- Photobiomodulation (Laser) Therapy
- Electrostimulation
- Stem Cell Therapy
- Platelet-Rich Plasma
- Phytotherapy
HIGHLIGHTS
Acupuncture
The application of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TVCM) principles for diagnosing disease allows me to shed light on the origin of pathologies. I am able to restore health and well-being by looking at the animal’s system in a comprehensive, integrated and complete way.
Ozone Therapy
In my daily work I use Ozone Therapy as an integrative medicine treatment that due to its remarkable detoxification and oxidative / reactive properties can stimulate the animal’s body to renew and regenerate itself.
Laser Therapy
This therapy uses laser and LED beams of light to stimulate those cells in the body that repair damaged tissue, reduce inflammation and transmit pain. It is a non-invasive treatment that emits no heat, sound, or vibration.
